Slept in this morning because it was raining.

Nice easy hike in the valley. It was a nice change and I really enjoyed the green valley.  Lots of beaver ponds in the beginning followed by a meandering creek.

Afternoon thunderstorm brought cold rain. We took shelter for 10 minutes under some pine trees.  Later we passed through areas that had received inches of hail. So much that the ground was completely white.

There doesn’t seem to be much beetle kill in this area and it is nice to see living pines.

Cloudbuster and I got separated after getting water.  He missed a turn.  It was on a section of trail where no tracks could he visible so I wasn’t sure if he was behind or before me.  After a while I was pretty sure he was behind so waited at a spot where the trail took a turn about 3 miles from where we got water.  When he realized his mistake he ran most of the way back and up to where I was waiting.

It’s late and time to sleep.
